Kenilworth and the Common Man

Among the grim castles of old England, the dark red sandstone of Kenilworth Castle is one of the grimmest - and its history is equally grim. Surrounded by impressive defences, it held the might of Edward I at bay and then forced the abdication of his son, Edward II. It's most famous castellan was a saint and the meadows outside it reverberate down to our own day and around the world.
